An array of shops are available to
satisfy your every need while in the BVIs
The British Virgin Islands provide a variety of stores to cover your every need. The local markets and stores are plentiful and well stocked with fresh vegetables, meats, seafood, and beverages. Shopping in the BVI's for clothing and jewelry is on every visitor's shopping list. Locally made gifts and artwork of all types are plentiful throughout the islands. Rest assured, one thing that you will not find is the locals walking the beaches or streets "pushing" their wares on our visitors!
On Tortola, the main shopping areas are located in Road Town and Soper's Hole Marina on the West End. The main shopping areas on Virgin Gorda are located at Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour, in The Valley and in North Sound at various resorts.
BVI local artists have many colorful
and unique works of art
Several high quality grocery stores and yacht provisioners reside in the British Virgin Islands. Just like at home you can find almost anything you'd like from gourmet foods to peanut butter and jelly. Due to shipping costs, prices are in the range of 10 to 20% higher than in the U.S. or Canada for most foodstuffs. Liquor, beer and cigarettes are very inexpensive as they are not taxed.
Browse the local shops and take home some momentos from your trip to paradise. There is something for everyone, from the colorful island apparel and t-shirts to the unique creations and handicrafts by our local artists. So take some time to wander through our many shops - because no matter what you're looking for, you're sure to find it in "nature's little secrets," the British Virgin Islands.
